Owl City

Music of 2010

Last January if you had asked Who is Owl City? Only a hand full of people probably could have told you. But late this summer Owl City took the world by storm with their hit song "Fireflies" before you knew it they were the #1 most downloaded song around the World!!!!

A few months back I saw that they were coming to the Music Farm in Charleston, SC which is only about an hour or so from my home in Columbia. Imediately I went online to buy tickets. To my dismay they were sold out. So, I began my search for a seller, checking facebook, craigslist, and ebay I was appalled at what I found. Tickets were not hard to find on ebay or craigslist, which many of you are thinking is great ! Well, it was great except that a $15 dollar ticket from Music Farm was being sold now anywhere from $60 to $100!!!! I thought surely this can't be right, true Owl City had become a hot item but when you are selling tickets for over a 400% mark-up that is a Crime! So I kept looking hopeing to find that people realized what a joke there prices were but besides a few ppl here and there asking $40 nothing was available. Now granted if I was going to a big city like Atlanta or even a the North Charleston Coliseum I might be more likely to pay $60 dollars for a concert ticket, but if any one has ever been to Music Farm its a small place barely bigger then a bar with a stage and no seating. Their fire hazard limit of people to enter  the building is probably 300 ....maybe. Yet people were advertizing these tickets as "ground floor", what a joke!!! There is only Ground Floor tickets! What was even more discusting was that the majority of the tickets being sold were all by a hand full of the same people, meaning that these jerks had baught as many tickets as they could, then turned around and jacked up the prices to a 400% profit margin! Leaving people who really wanted to see this group left in the cold unless you wanted pay more then the ticket was really worth! You should be put in Jail! I am thuroughly appalled!

I LOVE you Owl City, ..... but unfortunatly I may not be able to see you at the show :(

"The new fashion hot spot to find affordable, adorable, and stylish clothes!!!! "

I found this little jewel just a day or so ago and completely feel in love with their clothes! Everything they have is so sheek, I'm a big fan of little dresses and this place has such a wide veriety I didn't know what to order first, I simple thought to myself " I'm going to have buy them all". The great thing about " Shabby Apple" is their prices. Dresses dont go over $100 that I've seen. I'm talking dresses and clothes that you normally would pay $200 to $300 dollars for you're only going to pay $75 to $100 here. So, go check them out and see what I mean, you are going to love them I guaranty.

Go Green with Fashion

Today there are many ways to GO GREEN  ....... Now be Fashionable about it!!!!

Donating your little-worn items to a thrift store or consignment store is obviously an easy, green way to go. I also like passing on old favorites to people I know will love them and wear them as much as I have. You can even get some friends together for a closet  Swap, with everyone bringing a pile of old, but fashionable, good-conditioned clothes that are ready for a new home.

Another one of my favorite ideas is cutting up a few different favorite items and combining them
to make something new. Maybe you love the design on a certain T-shirt, but it's too threadbare to wear in public anymore. Cut off the design and sew it into a new T-shirt, or even onto a collared shirt or a hoodie for something old and something new. Do you have a cardigan that just doesn't get you as excited as it used to? Sew some lace around the hems, or spruce it up with a couple handmade rossettes. And, voila! You have something new without buying something new.

If you are buying something new, but still want to limit your fashion impact, there are plenty of ways to do that, too. Stick with organic fabrics, like cotton, and companies, like Fair Indigo that provide fair trade merchandise. You can even get vegan shoes designed by Natalie Portman!

Photography

Photography.............. One of the best ways to capture a memory.

So, I reallly  really really want to take a couple of photography classes. Just try my hand at it. It seems to me that being a photographer would be one of the most relaxing and enjoyable careers you could find. Unless of course you are dealing with a hysterical bride, a crying kid, or a difficult group of models......

A New Year

Dear...
One year has ended and another has just begun. 2010 can be a great year, Its all in what we make of it, right? I didn't really do a New Years Resolution like most, with the whole pledging to loose this amount of weight, or going to be nicer to this person or have a more possitive mind set. My resolution was just to be myself. Today people of every age face peer pressure, to be conformed, to get caught up in the the lives of others and keep up with the Jones'.Well, I resolute to just finding my nitch in the world and excelling as high as I can with what I've got. I mean if you really think about it, you can never be all you can be if you are trying to be someone else. Basically this is because your talents are not what others maybe. Find what you are good at and focus on that. When you are you and you except who that is, you find yourself and usually in exchange you become a much happier, self confident, and better person. Its hard to treat others the way we should when we aren't happy, and usually lack of happiness comes from lack of self being. So I figure finding myself, excepting it, and loving it, will all and all give me a win win situation in many different areas of my life. What was your 2010 Resolution?

WELCOME 2010!!!!!
